FAQ

Questions people ask before using Ledgora.

Short, direct answers about privacy, forecasting, licensing, local AI, and product status.

What is Ledgora?

Ledgora is a private, offline-first financial forecasting application for Windows. It helps you project future balances, plan bills, review transactions, manage goals, and understand what may happen before it happens.

Is Ledgora a budgeting app?

Ledgora includes budgeting-like tools, but its main focus is forecasting. Instead of only showing where money went, Ledgora helps estimate where your balance is headed.

Does Ledgora connect to my bank?

Not currently. Ledgora does not require bank credentials. You can enter information manually or import statement files where supported.

Does Ledgora upload my financial data?

No. The desktop application is designed to store your profile data locally on your computer unless you explicitly export, back up, or share it.

Can I use Ledgora offline?

Yes. Ledgora is designed as an offline-first desktop application. Some optional features, such as update checks, downloads, website access, or future license activation services, may require internet access.

Does Local AI send my data to the cloud?

Local AI is designed to work on your computer when configured with a local AI provider such as Ollama. If future cloud AI options are added, they will be clearly labeled and opt-in.

Is Ledgora financial advice?

No. Ledgora provides planning and forecasting tools only. It is not financial, tax, legal, accounting, investment, credit, or lending advice.

Can Ledgora guarantee my future balance?

No. Forecasts are estimates based on the information you enter or import. Actual balances can differ because of fees, timing differences, pending transactions, changes in income, or unexpected expenses.

What is the difference between Free and Professional?

The Free edition is intended for trying Ledgora with limits. Professional is planned as a one-time license that unlocks higher limits and advanced features such as expanded accounts, transactions, receipts, goals, reports, and local AI tools.

Will Ledgora be subscription based?

The plan is a one-time Professional license rather than a monthly subscription.

Can I store receipts and invoices?

Yes. Ledgora includes receipt and invoice organization with support for local files such as PDFs and images.

Can I import PDFs?

Ledgora includes PDF reading support for statements and receipts, but PDF formats vary. Imported data should always be reviewed.

Can I export my data?

Export and backup tools are part of the Ledgora roadmap and application workflow. You should always keep your own backups of important financial data.

Does Ledgora support multiple profiles?

Yes. Profiles allow separate local financial workspaces, such as personal, household, or demo profiles.

Can I password protect a profile?

Ledgora includes local profile protection features. You are still responsible for protecting your Windows account and device.

Does Ledgora work on macOS?

The current focus is Windows. macOS may be evaluated later.

Does Ledgora work on mobile?

Not currently. A mobile companion could be considered in the future.

Can Ledgora track credit cards?

Yes. Credit cards can include current balance owed, limit, utilization, and account-linked activity.

Can goals affect my forecast?

Yes. Goal contributions can be linked to accounts and scheduled over time so they affect projected cash flow.

Can I test purchases before making them?

Yes. The What-If tools help model one-time income or expenses before saving them to the real ledger.

How do updates work?

Ledgora includes the foundation for update checks. Public update downloads will be available once the release process is finalized.

Will there be a public beta?

Yes. The public beta will be announced on the website once Ledgora is ready for broader testing.

Who is Ledgora for?

Ledgora is for people who want to understand upcoming cash flow without giving a cloud service direct access to their bank accounts.
